Want to share your speaking skills for a wonderful mission?

Our BIGGEST need is to recruit Donors to donate.

Seeking individuals who are excited to do reach out to restaurants, grocery stores, and companies in the community, in hopes to get them to donate their edible surplus food.

Your pitch to potential donors:

“Almost 1 in 5 Californians don’t have enough to eat. The climate bill, SB 1383, requires food businesses to donate their surplus edible food to food recovery organizations. These are food that otherwise would have been discarded into the landfills. Donations are delivered to soup kitchens, social service agencies and affordable housing where food is needed.”

Food businesses can help their communities by

  1. Working with Peninsula Food Runners to implement onsite food donation program and to be compliant with SB 1383 expectations.

  2. Reduce their hauling fees

  3. Reduce their expense for labor and food purchased

  4. Reduce food waste in the landfill

  5. Receive a tax write off

  6. Feed individuals and families in need

Peninsula Food Runners is a non-profit whose mission is to recover good edible food for human consumption in hopes to reduce food insecurities AND food waste in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. This service is free to all donors and recipients.

As an outreach member, you can

  1. Determine how much time you choose to dedicate to this project. This is ideal for employees and high schoolers needing volunteer hours. This is also wonderful for parties interested for group projects.

  2. Distribute flyers to your targeted donors. Flyers are in English and Spanish

Please email to support @peninsulafoodrunners.org regarding your interest in this project. Thank you so much.
